Hmmm…..the smells of fall.  The mustiness of the leaves as you walk though them or during the job of raking them.  Wood burning smells from starting fires in the fireplace to cozy up the early darkness in our homes that is so a part of this time of year.

Being outdoors raking and tucking in the flowers beds for the on slot of winter’s bluster and a blanket of snow sometimes makes me feel this is my favorite time of year. Even cold overcast has it’s own special smell.  Earthy. Like a handful of fresh ground picked up and held under your nose.
